Trip to South New Jersey

My grandfather came down this week (he came on Wednesday and is leaving Tuesday), but from Friday evening to this evening my mother, grandfather and I went down to south New Jersey to explore some places like Cape May and some of the other lighthouses and wildlife. I took a few pictures, but they weren’t good and most were with my phone since my camera batteries died and the replacements I brought were also dead which didn’t help. My mom took a lot of pictures though with her fancy camera (mine isn’t quite as fancy, but it certainly works). It was fun to explore some unique sites and get out of the house and spend time with family so I’m happy I went.

End of Term Business

Well it’s the time again where things get really busy, a lot of big assignments are due, and things are really busy. It doesn’t help that there is a bug going around campus as well. Ahh the issues of being in a dorm. If one person gets sick everyone gets sick too. Still taking things one step at a time and things will be alright. Also got my classes for next semester. It should be my last semester so that will be nice, and right now I have some good classes, they might change, but so far I have some interesting classes coming up. I’m also excited for a break, but still working hard to get everything done.

To have a roommate or not to have a roommate

I’ve only had a roommate one year of college and it’s pretty fun to have a room all to yourself. It’s easier to find stuff and get around when yoou don’t have to worry about other people’s stuff. Though having people talking in the hallways or being loud in their rooms means that you don’t feel too alone (even though sometimes I just want to ask them kindly to be quiet). Though I can just hide in my room if I don’t feel up to socializing. Having a roommate in some ways is also fun because you have someone who becomes a good friend with you. So there are pros and cons.

Guest Speaker

This week in one of my classes we got visited by one of the teachers I’ve had before. It was great because I really liked the teacher. I was already excited since when i read the reading list I actually saw her nameĀ as one of the books on the reading list I got excited to read the book so actually getting a presentation from her was fun.

Glasses are annoying

I think the worst thing about wearing glasses is that they get dirty really easily. I’ve gotten into the habit of cleaning them a lot, but it is frustrating how dirty they get even if you don’t touch them. Sometimes I wish I could wear contacts, but those are probably frustrating as well. Still they are very helpful and as I’ve gotten older I’ve really seen how much they help and how much my left eye really does for my vision, but even so they are still frustrating sometimes. I’ve also gotten better at not dropping them like I used to.

Sorry and Snow Days

Sorry about not having posted in a while I’ve been busy with school and last week was kind of hectic because I didn’t know when I had school and when I didn’t pretty much each day. Monday and Tuesday ened up being snow days because of storms then Wednesday we had class then Thursday was delayed then they canceled then Friday we had school again. It was certainly a weird week. It was also a shame because I was excited for something that was going to happen this week, but good thing is that it’s postponed not canceled so I get to talk about it next week instead. Yay!

Black on White or White on Black

One thing I’m grateful for about Zoomtext is that you can change a lot of settings in order to make viewing the screen easier. One thing that I’ve always found easier is to have white text on a black background instead of having it the normal way around. I believe it lowers the brightness on the computer. I know I can lower the brightness on my computer, but having it as white on black is something I’ve just gotten used to and makes it easier.

Making Music

One of the things I find fun is to play my flute (though honestly I don’t do it as much as I probably should). I’ve been playing it for years now. My biggest issue is reading sheet music. It’s hard to read beause you have to notice what note is on what line and be able to keep up with it as you play really fast. Having the music enlarged makes it worse in some ways because I have to flip through a whole bunch of pages. I originally picked a flute with the idea that it would make seeing the music easier, but it really wasn’t. I try to listen to what other people play and go off that. Though I have the most fun just oming up with music on my own time and not worrying about the music. Sometimes it’s hard to remember what I just played but I just like the sound and the feeling of playing something. I love just sitting down and playing away and seeing what comes out.
